This week is a big week for food. It’s Thanksgiving, and if you are anything like me it means that counting calories is off limits and you are going to enjoy all sorts of tasty food while enjoying time with family and football. Thanksgiving foods are some of the best home cooked examples of food that is good for your soul that I can think of. Delicious turkey, honey ham, casseroles, potatoes, pies, pies, and pies all have a special place on the table and in my heart. Can you tell what my favorite Thanksgiving foods are? Oh yeah, I love pie.
Thanksgiving is obviously most well known for the turkey. The day even earned the nickname “Turkey Day.” Turkeys are very interesting birds. The can run fairly quickly, they can fly fast, and they have amazing hearing and vision. They also taste delicious. There are many ways to cook the bird and families all across the United States will put their culinary skills to work and cook up a turkey with all the fixings on the side.
This Thanksgiving, while you are enjoying your tasty foods, be sure to remember the real reason we get all these tasty foods to eat and be thankful for them. In the meantime learn some more about Thanksgiving foods below.
